William Levy hizo una pausa durante los ensayos del programa 'Dancing with the stars' para dar una entrevista exclusiva a la periodista Mara Patricia Castañeda.

"Yo creo que esta es una forma muy linda y muy especial de acercarte al público, de que la gente te vea como eres de verdad, como tú eres cuando bailas, cuando hablas, como te comportas en la vida real y no como dicen a veces que te comportas", declaró el cubano.

Esto con respecto a los comentarios que hablan de un William Levy sobrevaluado: "Si te pagan a ti por salir en una portada, pues está bien, o sea si tú le dieras las revistas gratis al público no te cobraría, pero tú le cobras a tu público, pues yo tengo que cobrarte a ti porque tu eres la revista o sea es una cosa de trabajo, es una cosa de profesionalismo".

Su estancia en Los Ángeles le permitirá tocar puertas en Hollywood, aunque el regreso a las telenovelas es sólo cuestión de tiempo.

"Claro, o sea si el proyecto me gusta, claro que sí, o sea yo no quiero hacer cosas que no me gusten, es más, estamos buscando un proyecto de telenovela que yo creo va a ser fenomenal, me encantaría hacer un proyecto como ese y estamos tratando de hacerlo, entonces claro, además yo sigo siendo de Televisa, yo soy exclusivo de Televisa, yo voy a regresar".

Además ya tiene otros proyectos en la empresa: "Tenemos en camino la serie Cuna de Lobos que se va a llamar Por derecho de sangre, tenemos esa serie, que no sé por fin si se va a hacer serie o
elenovela", finalizó.

William Levy ocupa una de las posiciones privilegiadas en la competencia Dancing With the Stars (ABC), al ocupar la tercera posición en la lista de puntuaciones. El actor está “a salvo” para continuar bailando.

Con un total de 49 puntos acumulados durante las primeras dos galas el actor asegura por mucho su permanencia en la competencia y, por consiguiente, en el gusto del público.

Levy comentó en uno de los segmentos del programa que si bien se siente confiado con la puntuación obtenida, no sabe lo que ocurra al final.

Los resultados de esta primera ronda de votaciones fueron anunciados la noche del martes, durante una edición que sirvió a modo de resumen presentando el trabajo realizado por cada uno de los 12 participantes.

Levy regresará a la pista de baile el próximo lunes junto a Cheryl Burke.

William Levy: La gran sorpresa de “Dancing with the Stars”
El actor cubano William Levy quién participa en el programa Dancing witth the Stars junto a su pareja de baile Cheryl Burke, se ha convertido en uno de los favoritos del público. A pesar de que en la segunda jornada tuvo que hacer uso sobre la pista de un tipo de baile nuevo para él (quickstep), al terminar puso de pie al público, luego de obtener una calificación de 25 puntos por parte del jurado.

El programa que transmite ABC todos los lunes desde un ámbito americano, ha tenido durante estas dos primeras jornadas una gran audiencia y William, gracias a la votación del público y a su actuación sobre la pista de baile se mantiene en la competencia junto a su bella pareja.

Lo cierto es que desde un principio se dudaba bastante sobre la actuación de William pues no se le conocía antecedentes como bailarín, además, por ser latino, aparecía como una incógnita dentro de una buena parte del público anglo. Sin embargo, hasta el momento ha sido la gran sorpresa del show y por lo que se ha venido apreciando, podría estar entre las parejas finalistas. Para lograrlo, William deberá continuar esforzándose al máximo y practicar mucho antes de cada salida para garantizar su trabajo sobre la pista, pues la votación del público, sobre todo el femenino, parece estar garantizada para próximas audiencias.

This season’s breakout personality on “Dancing With the Stars” is a Cuban-born telenovela star with an unlikely name and a colorful backstory.

William Levy, who’s setting hearts aflutter and wowing “Dancing” fans, seems to have emerged out of nowhere onto prime-time’s biggest stage.

But he’s been an established star on Spanish-language TV since 2007, when he shot to fame on the telenovelas “Pasion” (“Passion”) and “Cuidado con el Angel” (“Watch Out for the Angel”), which aired on Mexico’s Televisa network to huge numbers. When “Cuidado” premiered here on Univision, it averaged a massive 46 million viewers worldwide a night. “He’s a huge phenomenon in Latin America,” says Levy’s manager, Gladys Gonzalez. “He’s their Brad Pitt.”

Born William Levy Gutierrez in Cojimar, Cuba, Levy, 31, adopted his stage name to honor his mother’s side of the family (his maternal grandfather was Jewish). “My dad left when I was a little boy and I grew up with my mother’s family,” Levy told The Post. “There were foundations in the US where Jewish people got together and sent money to Cuba, so we got some of that. We were a poor family, but I was always a happy kid.”

Levy’s stepfather, a political prisoner, was granted asylum in the US when Levy was 14, and flew Levy, his pregnant mother and little sister to Florida. “He was waiting for his papers for like 15 years and they came two weeks before we were going to leave [Cuba] on a boat,” Levy says. “We got pretty lucky.”

While he eventually earned a baseball scholarship to St. Thomas University, Levy knew he really wanted to act.

“When I was a little boy, my dream was to play baseball and leave Cuba,” he says. “The whole time I was playing baseball [in the US] . . . I was in the outfield thinking of acting.”

In 2003, Levy appeared in the Mexican soap “Protaganistas,” where he met his longtime girlfriend, actress Elizabeth Gutierrez (same last name is a coincidence), the mother of his son Christopher, 6, and daughter Kailey, 2. (Levy and Gutierrez broke up last May.)
Levy says he’s been amazed at how his “Dancing” stint has sparked his stateside career. He’s even accepted a coveted invitation to attend next month’s posh White House Correspondents’ Dinner in DC. “I was talking to my uncle this morning and said, ‘Tio, they invited me to the White House!’ ” Levy says.

“When I was back in Cuba, who could have imagined I would be invited to the White House!”

Dancing With the Stars: William Levy Says He'll Strip for Votes, Navratilova Eliminated

Tennis Star Martina Navratilova was the first celebrity to be booted off Dancing With the Stars Tuesday night. Meanwhile, hot Cuban actor William Levy said he'll strip for votes.

After rounding up America’s votes and the judges scores, Navratilova and her partner Tony Dovolani saw themselves in jeopardy along with Gavin Degraw and last year’s Mirror Ball trophy winner, Karina Smirnoff. Surprisingly, Roshon Fegan and his partner, Chelsie Hightower, also were in jeopardy of going home despite being one of the highest scoring couples in the competition.

"It was an amazing experience,” Navratilova said after learning she was eliminated. “I blew it yesterday, and it cost me.”

On Monday night, Navratilova forgot most of her routine when performing a jive to Billy Joel’s “Tell Her About It.” The tennis champ was very disappointed.

Earlier in the broadcast, Navratilova said she did not want “to be the first” to go home.

Her competitor, musician Gavin Degraw, told Navratilova he was beside himself knowing he had met her.

“It was an honor sharing this stage with you,” he whispered in Navratilova’s left ear, as the audience stood and gave her a standing ovation.

Learning he would be around for another week on DWTS, Levy took a deep breath in relief.

“We got to do what we got to do,” Levy said about taking his dancing to another level. “Whatever we need to do on the dance floor [to win.]”

So far Levy is tied in second place with Disney star Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower.

Levy seemed ready to focus on next week’s dancing challenge of telling a personal story. His partner Cheryl Burke said they will be dancing salsa, “one of William’s favorite” dances.

“The salsa is a sexy dance,” Burke added with a smile as she looked at Levy.

Levy looked stressed backstage as clips of him prior to taking the dance floor were shown.

Burke tried to relax him by reminding him how much his fans love him.

“One day, you will have panties thrown at you!” Burke said, jokingly trying to get Levy to smile.

For the telenovela actor, staying on the show is not guaranteed just because he has many screaming fans.

“I don't know what's going to happen," Levy said. "[But] I'm here to have a good time.”

He said he realizes the show is a competition.

“People will go home," he said.

The hunk also mentioned he needed to stay because no one has seen him with fewer clothes.

Burke promised on Monday night that Levy would wear less if the fans kept them around.

“I can’t go home,” Levy said. “You haven’t seen me topless yet!”

DWTS host Tom Bergeron was glad that Levy was staying around for another week, at least.

"William and Cheryl happily we are avoiding a riot,” said Bergeron. “You are safe!"

Od kilku tygodni, William Levy („Triumf miłości”) jest jednym z uczestników amerykańskiej edycji „Tańca z gwiazdami”, aktor zbiera bardzo pozytywne opinie zarówno od widzów, jak i jury.
