Opis:

The theme of Fernando Lobo’s life is female domination. From the clutches of a matriarchal mother to a forced marriage with the complicated Soledad to fathering three headstrong daughters, Fernando is hopelessly surrounded by women.

The mystery of Soledad’s death, which seems to point to her unstable sister Manuela, creates turmoil in Fernando’s daughters, compelling the family to leave their home for Caracas and a new life.

Once there, Fernando takes over his late wife’s family business, an intimate apparel design company, thrusting him further into the female world.

In contrast, events in Isabel Cordero’s life have caused her to stay away from men. Her turbulent childhood relationship with her father set a stage made worse by the painful betrayal suffered at the hands of her first love. So while she’s beautiful, willful and independent, she’s also a virgin, a situation she doubts she’ll ever overcome. Unlike Fernando’s coldness, which is based on too much exposure to women, Isabel’s coldness is based on a fear of intimacy.

The circumstances that bring them together will serve to thaw their frozen hearts, because they will learn that love is both fragile as lace and strong as cement.
