Znalazłam jakieś streszczenia po angielsku. Jakby ktoś chciał poczytać to wklejam pierwszą cześć.
Yanko meets with Salomé, per Sebastián’s request. He begins to tell her his story (unrequited love for Milenka) and she’s confused as to why. Why is he worried about her wedding the next day? He tells her he’s never agreed with gitano laws concerning how a woman has no say in her marriage. He asks her if she really wants to marry Jonás.
Magdalena visits Camila and tells her all went badly with her last attempt to get out of marrying Mirko: instead she was playing house (setting up their newlywed tent). Camila wonders why she just doesn’t refuse to marry but Magdalena says that she can’t go against her people’s laws. Camila wonders if all gitano laws are like that, men having all the say, men choosing. Magdalena affirms the truth of this and Camila can’t believe her ears. Bitterly she tells her friend that she wants to die. Magda, alarmed, begs her to tell her what’s wrong.
Saschenka prods Branko to talk about why Camila was in his room. She suspects that Branko made the girl fall in love with him. He denies this charge and tells her not to worry: it’s just the two of them and no one else matters.
Rafael is drinking (again) in the office. Sebastián enters and asks why. Rafael starts off on his litany of woes but stops himself. “I’m a mediocre failure,” he complains. Sebastián reassures him that this is not true and asks if his father went to see Jovanka. Rafael sadly admits he did, but now things are different with her; she wants nothing to do with him and it’s eating him up inside. “There’s another man in her life…” Sebastián wonders who; another gitano? Rafael decides he’ll go drink in the tavern and leave Sebastián alone but his son begs him to stay and talk to him, to confide in him.
Yanko presses onward with his confession to Salomé. She can’t figure out why he’s telling her this, until he starts getting to his point. He recounts how he loves a gitana and how she’s married to another but if he’d spoken up sooner, he might have had a chance at happiness. Salomé is amazed and asks who the woman is. She’s shocked to learn it’s Milenka and blurts out that Milenka is very happy with Vanya. Yanko begs her not to tell. He recognizes that Milenka loves Vanya; but he’s lost out all the same, for cowardice.
Magdalena begs Camila to tell her what is wrong. Camila tells her that she saw the baby’s father but it’s all off; he never loved her. “He’s getting married!” Magdalena wants to know who he is but just then Claudio comes over, seeking Camila. When he sees Magda, he insults her, yet again.
Rafael tells his son it feels weird to talk to him about such matters and Sebastián agrees that it does. Usually, his father would talk to Juan about these things… But, assures Sebastián, he understands his father. Rafael wretchedly confesses to his son that his actions towards Jovanka have never been capricious. “I needed to prove that our love was true. It’s my own fault that I have lost the last 20 years by her side,” he anguishes. Sebastián doesn’t understand – at first – how his father can still have such strong feelings after 20 years, but then he recalls the strength of his feelings in a series of flashbacks to his moments with Salomé and bites off those words. He does indeed understand. The problem is though, as he sees it, is that maybe it is too late. You have to fight the battle at the moment, or else it’s too late. Fight it at the time it’s happening.
Yanko is echoing these same sentiments to Salomé. She can only wonder, “Why me? Why do you say these things to me?” (“Okay, honey, let me spell it out for you…”) explains that he knows that she loves another and it’s not Jonás. He worries for her sake because he knows what this is like; he still loves Milenka. He begs her to be sure that she doesn’t still love Sebastián before she marries.
Claudio continues to insult Magdalena and asks about her wedding. He mocks that the loser who is marrying her must be either desperate or crazy. She sadly remarks that for a moment, she thought he wasn’t such a bad person. She vows that one day, a gitana will teach him a lesson. Claudio asks after Michelle and Camila tells him she’s surely returned to France. Magdalena speaks up and contradicts her friend. No, Michelle will visit the bar that evening: how could she not want to see her novio?
Yanko presses on with Salomé. She confides in him that she saw Sebastián with Eréndira, kissing and hugging, and she angrily told him her love was over and she never wanted to see him again. Yanko wisely asks if this was anger/disgust or jealousy. Salomé breaks down and admits that she lied: she does love him, but she feels that he doesn’t love her like he used to and there’s nothing she can do about her current situation.
After Claudio leaves, Camila asks Magdalena why she’s letting Michelle come back. Magdalena exclaims that she was a fool to pity Claudio and tonite she’s going to make him take it all back. She also plans to make the guy who got Camila pregnant pay too. Who is he? Camila won’t tell her friend. She just wants to forget him, she says, but by the look on her face, she’s thinking revenge too.
Victoria barges into Baldomero’s shack and demands to talk to him. She wants to know why Eréndira was there and what is the photo he showed her niece. Baldomero futilely asks her to leave. Victoria threatens him yet again.
Claudio is in the tavern that night, bragging to his circle of friends (underage drinkers if you ask me) about his beautiful novia. Camila and Michelle enter the bar and we see his pals amazement.
Baldomero demands that Victoria leave his home but she’s not going without that photo. Baldomero explains that he didn’t show a photo to Eréndira, she was messing with his things. This inspires Victoria, who begins her own search of the shack. Baldomero can only beg her not to do so.
Juan prays desperately to God to have pity on him. He confesses that he cannot be false to Him any longer; something did happen between him and Jo. He anguishes, “How do I go on?”
Jovanka is praying too, to Santa Sara, for help in understanding her love. Yes, she admits it: she’s in love for the second time in her life and again with the wrong man. He’s doubly wrong for her because he’s not a gitano and he’s a priest.
Juan continues to despair. He wonders how he can enter the pulpit and preach to his parishioners, feeling the way he does, if he can’t live up to his vows. He proclaims that he’s not fit to guide his flock, nor to serve Him and it hurts to know that he cannot serve God. “Why (did this happen)?” he cries out.
Jovanka continues her own confession to Saschenka too. She tells the santa that she feels so bad for Juan’s suffering. She acknowledges that she cannot force her daughters to marry and make the mistakes she’s made. Salomé enters and overhears this last conversation. The women’s eyes meet.
Sebastián is sitting on a bench in the plaza and Yanko races up. He tells Sebastián that he indeed told all to Salomé and it’s as Sebastián thought – she does love you. Sebastián is elated to know this.
Salomé asks her mother what she means by what she said and Jovanka asks how much Salomé heard. Enough. Jovanka doesn’t want to talk about it but Salomé does. “You’re in love with Padre Juan!” Jovanka tries desperately to avoid this conversation and tells her daughter she doesn’t want to upset her before the wedding. Salomé states with conviction that this is beginning to clear things up for her.
Yanko tells Sebastián that Salomé felt disgust and jealousy when she saw him with Eréndira. Sebastián tries to explain that Eréndira is his cousin and he feels nothing for her.
Salomé compares her hand with Jovanka’s and shows the same mark they carry: the sign of love for a gayó. She demands that Jovanka tell her the truth about her love for Juan. Jovanka tries to deny it and say that sure, she loves him, as a man of God worthy of respect but Salomé asks again, “Do you love him as a man?”
Victoria is smashing up Baldomero’s place and finally spies his box. He pleads with her to leave it but she wants to find that photo. When she does, she demands to know why he has it, what is it to him. He reaches out for it but she pushes him away and he falls on his bed, hitting his head. Taking the photo and his box, she leaves, telling the old man that he got what he deserved. He’s hurt, but we can still see him breathing.
Sebastián impulsively tells Yanko that he’s got to stop the wedding and take Salomé far away. There’s not a second to lose, he tells Yanko, and thanks him. Yanko anxiously tells Sebastián that this is crazy, it’s too late, but Sebastián triumphantly states that it’s never too late and dashes off. Eréndira draws close, out of the darkness and curses Yanko. He asks her if she was listening and she curses him again. She tells him to leave and threatens to make a scandal. Alone, she tearfully wonders what she should do next.
Claudio and Magdalena/Michelle hold hands as Camila and his buddies watch on avidly. He explains his frustration at not being able to find her and get in touch with her. Magdalena tell him she should leave him forever because she doesn’t want to hurt him or be hurt by him. Claudio protests that he loves her and would never hurt her. He thought she felt the same way. She says that she has her own fears though, and needs some proof of his love for her… though he might not be willing.
Rodrigo is slumped on his sofa in the gloom and he senses the approach of Eréndira. He wonders why he is enjoying the pleasure of her visit. She needs his help, she tells him, Sebastián is going to run away with Salomé. “And that affects me how?” he remarks, disinterestedly. She demands his help and he tells her it’s going to cost her more this time. She agrees, but sinisterly remarks that this time he cannot leave any loose ends like before. Even he is startled by this ominous remark.
Claudio asks what type of proof Michelle needs and she tells him that she’s afraid he’ll fool her, lie to her. A gitana told her that he would. Claudio asks her if she believes that stuff and Michelle tells him that she knows the gitana who told her. He suspiciously ventures that it’s Magdalena, right? He insults Magdalena again, calling her a thief and filthy liar, like all gitanos. Holding back her rage, she asks him to proclaim his love for her and he agrees. He stands up before all assembled and states his feelings. He proclaims that he loves this woman and then he gets down on one knee before her and passionately declares that he cannot live his life without her. Victory! Magdalena pulls off her wig and reveals herself, to the horror of Claudio. “I swore you’d kneel before a gitana one day,” she tells him, then reaches into her bag and pulls out the long awaited wedding necklace of Milenka’s and holds it in his face. She angrily wonders how a thief like him has the nerve to speak so of anyone else. All eyes are glued on this scene and Claudio looks like he wishes he could evaporate! |

What happened to the previews??? Jonas did not get shot. Maybe that was an alternate scene that never made it throught the editing room?
And what about Mirko getting caught? It was great to see Claudio demanding Mirko to tell the truth- although I thought he would have said something directly to Magdalena too…
And Sebastian telling Yovanka she is the least capable of giving direction to Salome on what to do… Can you believe what the rest of the gypsies would do if they find out about Padre Juan??
And Sebastian pretty much telling the slimy woman to mind her own business??
I was laughing out loud through the scene between Sandra’s mom and the husband when he said he had to hear her every night calling Vanya’s name!!! The only thing missing in the family is to the father to fall for a gitana as well!!!
It was a if everyone had a truth setum today.
Everyone’s acting was just great!!

Yes, and what about Queen Vicky talking to Mr. Abusive and confronting Erendira?
It almost seems as if so many loose ends were tied up, that they are thinking of shutting down early (I HOPE NOT!).
Of course, we don’t know whether Salome will make a getaway with Sebastian. My money would be on Sebastian whipping Jonas in “Gitano Steel: The Grudge Match”, but this is subject to the storyline, not my assessments.
Branko and Mirko have their cover blown for good. The door is open for a Claudio-Magdalena thing.
Jovanka did a nice job of putting her foot in her mouth, and Sebastian obliged by shoving it in for her. The stage seems to be set for “Sashenkshrew” to find out a few interesting points about her gitana pedigree.
There’s a boom to be lowered on finding out how Erendira’s wrecked the company. I wonder if the Dominguez fishery will be rescued by Jovanka’s money in the end?
Yes, it does seem like Vanya’s masterpiece may well become the final straw in his demise as Patriarch.
My favorite part was seeing that big mouthed phony Paska’s smile getting wiped off her face. It was like somebody gave her a big pie in the mug!

Telenovela-World: Re: What Happened? [USA, 11/16/04] Author: Gaviot (---) Date: 11-17-04 05:31 PST
Padre Juan married Sebastian and Salome in a woodland ceremony, but not before baptizing and confirming her. Apparently she didn’t have to take any classes or make any declaration of faith. I guess Padre Juan knows his bible or at least the story of Ruth who declared (if memory serves me right) “Whither thou goest, I will go, your people will be my people, your God, my God.” So I guess her wanting to be with Sebastian was enough faith in Juan’s book.
Drago did kick Padre Juan repetedly and only stopped when Jonas told him to. I know some will see his lack of fighting back as something that makes him “poco hombre”, but I think it was in character, as well as smart. If he had fought back, I think Drago would have felt justified pulling his knife and Padre Juan would have been killed.
Jovanka helped Padre Juan to his bed, pulled his shirt off of him, saw his bruises and asked if one of her tribe had done this to him. He didn’t say it was Gitanos who had done it, but she certainly suspects. All she did was run her hands softly over the bruises and found he was burning up with fever.
Telenovela-World: Dialogue – Juan/Jovanka (Friday’s episode) [USA, 11/19/04] Author: Tuly (---) Date: 11-19-04 20:31 PST
Jovanka – How can you even think of the possibility of leaving behind the life you lead for me?
Juan – What’s wrong? I thought you …
Jovanka – You thought wrong. I don’t want you to leave the priesthood for me. I don’t want to be responsible for that.
Juan – No, Jovanka. I’m not asking you to be responsible [for the decision]. The only one responsible for my actions is me, and what I do I will do for myself. But please understand me … I can’t be divided in two parts. I need to clear this up, I need to clarify things so that I won’t be a hypocrite before God.
Jovanka – Then clarify things without taking me into consideration.
Juan – What’s wrong, Jovanka? We talked about it this morning. You told me that we had to keep our feelings quiet. You know what? Now I feel differently … I think we have to confront what’s happening to us.
Jovanka – I don’t want to confront anything.
Juan – And what about everything that’s happened? It wasn’t that long ago that we kissed in this same place, and you talked to me about love, and I also …
Jovanka – Enough! I don’t want to hear it; I don’t want to know anything about it. The only important thing right now is my daughter and finding out her whereabouts.
Juan – Jovanka, your daughter is in the arms of the man that she loves. And you and I were on the verge of kissing again this morning. We have to find a solution to all of this, Jovanka, we have to confront it. A little movement [on my part] and I would kiss you … and you would respond to that kiss. Do you think that’s right?
Jovanka – Who told you that I would respond to your kiss? You’re full of yourself, proud, vain … those are also sins, Father.
Juan – You spent the night in my room, a place where no one had gone before, no one other than me.
Jovanka – I was taking care of you, I was doing a charitable act for a sick person.
Juan – You know very well it wasn’t that way, Jovanka!
Jovanka – Ire … that’s another deadly sin, FATHER.
Juan – Okay, I understand now. Don’t worry, don’t worry because you won’t have to get involved. I’m the one at a crossroads and I have to confront this.
Jovanka – Yes, and what you decide you will have to decide alone.
Juan – I’ve always had that clear. It wasn’t my intention that you decide for me because it’s true … that decision is far greater than what a man could feel for a woman. But I felt the need to share it with you, or maybe get your advice, I’m not sure … but now I see that I was mistaken. Cowardice is not a good counselor.
Juan - ¿Qué me estás diciendo? Yo pensé que tú …
Jovanka – Pensaste mal.
Juan – No, Jovanka.
Jovanka – Yo no quiero enfrentar nada.
Jovanka – La ira … otro pecado capital, PADRE.
Telenovela-World: Dialogue – Victoria/Juan (Friday’s episode) [USA, 11/19/04] Author: Tuly (---) Date: 11-19-04 21:04 PST
Victoria – I invited you over, so I direct this conversation.
Juan – Okay, I’m listening.
Victoria – Juan, that gypsy …
Juan – Are we going to talk about the same thing again, Mother?
Victoria – No, it’s not about the same thing.
Juan – Oh no? It’s not about Jovanka, about how she manipulates me, about how she poisons me?
Victoria – No, it’s not about her, I want to talk about you … not about you as a priest, but as a man of flesh and bones with the same weaknesses as everybody else.
Juan – Mother, I don’t know what you’re trying to get at. Please get to the point.
Victoria – All right, I’ll do that. I know that besides being a priest you are a man, you have your needs, your repressed passions.
Juan – Pardon me, Mother, but that’s not a topic that I have the least bit of interest in discussing with you.
Victoria – I’m your mother, I worry about everything that happens to you. You’re suffering, Juan, and you’re confusing everything. That which you call love is nothing more than a need. It’s normal, it happens to every man.
Juan – Oh Mother, I can’t believe this. I can’t believe that you’re telling me this.
Victoria – But those needs can be satisfied without having to leave your apostolate. Let’s not play dumb, Juan, a lot of priests do it. They act out on their needs in secret and they continue with their ecclesiastic path … why can’t you do the same?
Juan – Oh Mother, Mother. You’re telling me that I can go to bed with any woman and I can continue being priest as if nothing had happened?
Victoria – It’s only something physical, Juan, something that would take you out of that obssessivve state in which you find yourself in. Anyway, if other priests do it, why can’t you?
Juan – I don’t care what other priests do … I do NOT want to be like that. I’m confused, you’re right, and I have to make a decision, but I have no doubt that the answer doesn’t lie in what you’re proposing to me.
Victoria – Then what is the answer? Don’t tell me that your decision will be to leave your ministry?
Juan – I haven’t made a decision yet, Mother, but I’m not going to lie to you … yes, I’m thinking about it.
Victoria – You’re crazy! What?!? For that floozy?
Juan – You said we weren’t going to talk about her. I beg you to please not mention Jovanka.
Victoria – You’re throwing your entire life away. You could go very far in you ecclesiastic career if you wanted to. Are you going to give it all up for a woman?
Juan – Mother, you know very well that I’ve never regarded my path in the Church in that way, but rather because of my love for others and my love for God.
Victoria – Love for God … and now you want to betray it and dirty it.
Juan – Who can understand you? A few minutes ago you were saying that it wouldn’t matter if I had a fling with a woman so long as it was simply an affair. And now you’re telling me that you think I’m dirtying my love for God because I want to do things the right way? What strange morals you have, Mother.
Victoria – Don’t get sarcastic with me, Juan. It’s the same thing for married men … they can have a lover, but the wife is the wife.
Juan – Mother, I think I’ve had enough.
Victoria – Of course, leave, run away! When I suggested that you have a fling with a woman, it was in a desperate attempt to retain you in the place where you should be: the Church. If you abandon it, you would not only be letting me down, but also all of those humble and needy people who believe in you. Those for which you wanted to become a priest. By turning your back on the priesthood you would be thrusting aside hundreds of people that would stop believing in the Church because you don’t believe in it anymore! Is that what you want? That your flock should lose its faith?
Victoria – Juan, esa gitana …
Juan - ¿Ah no?
Victoria – Está bien, voy a hacerlo.
Victoria – Claro, ¡vete, huye! |

Telenovela-World: Re: last nights SHOW!!! [USA, 11/26/04] Author: Mika (---) Date: 11-27-04 08:18 PST
Be grateful that you missed a disturbing death scene with Ianko. As you may have seen, Drago struck Ianko with a rock – not once, but twice. He then dragged the unconscious Ianko over to a tree and propped him up against it. He took Ianko’s knife, and slashed both his wrists so Ianko would slowly bleed to death. Then he wrote a fake suicide note and stuck it on Ianko’s body. ~ Padre Juan escorted a troubled Jovanka back to her home, after they had a non-successful talk with Vanya. (They asked Vanya to forgive Milenka and bring Ianko back.) Not only did Vanya refuse, but he was hostile towards Jovanka and said “Don’t make me regret the fact that I took you back into the tribe.” So Jovanka had on her best “Woe is me” look, and Padre Juan was only too happy to comfort her. He stroked her hair, and gave her a long lingering hug, and kissed her on the forehead. ~ Sashenka walked in on the tender scene, and when Padre Juan left, she gave Jovanka an angry lecture. ~ Before that, Claudio had come to the house, and he and Magdalena exchanged a couple of tongue twirling kisses. Actually, Magdalena was doing all the tongue twirling…. Claudio left the house numb with shock and almost in a trance. Of course Sashenka walked in on them too. You know she has a talent for walking in on people at the wrong time. ~ Camila walked in on her aunt being mistreated by Rodrigo. Ofelia broke loose, and Rodrigo left the scene. Ofelia then defended him! “He’s not as bad as he looks. He really loves me, but the liquor makes him mean.” Camila was disgusted. ~ Meanwhile, her admirer Mario, proposed marriage to Camila, so she wouldn’t have the abortion. But she didn’t take him up on the offer. He offered to stay by her side in whatever she decides. ~ Queen V had Drago come to her house, and she pulled out a map and told him where she suspects Sebastian and Salome might be. She advised Drago to take Rodrigo along on the search mission, since Rodrigo is a fisherman, and knows the sea. ~ Back at the gypsy camp, Lazlo is sputtering about stripping Vanya of his role as Patriarka. He said that if Vanya remains in charge, he’ll take his family and leave. ~ Stupid Mama Paska lectured Jovanka about the curses that the tribe is suffering, because of Jovanka’s defiance against gypsy law, and now Salome’s. Blah, blah, blah….. shaddup Mama Paska. ~ Salome and Sebastian are still on the beach (which is getting boring), and she was crying as she watched him fish… cause she intends to run away first thing in the morning. ~ Rafael is still in his little motorboat, searching for them….. still shirtless. ~ I think I’ve covered everything… maybe not in exact order, cause I’m not good at recaps. But that’s about everything that happened. One really great part, was that THERE WAS NO ERENDIRA in last night’s episode. That was very nice! ~

I didn’t understand a thing that Juan was saying to Jovanka when they returned to her house and he was comforting her. Can anyone help with the dialog?
Thanks.
Re: Friday’s Episode Author: Gaviotaa (---) Date: 11-29-04 16:49 PST
I deleted it, but Jovanka was very upset because her father told her that he was regretting having pardoned her after he ordered Yanko from the tribe.
She was blaming herself for all that had happened, sort of like, if I hadn’t come back, none of this would have happened. Juan told her that not everything was her fault. Most of what happened had nothing to do with her and she was not responsible for other people’s actions.
He said she needed comfort and he was the man to offer it.
Sorry, I don’t have the specifics, so if anyone out there can help Kathleen, I’m sure they will.
Re: Friday’s Episode Author: Marisa (---) Date: 11-29-04 17:47 PST
That was pretty much what happened. She is very worried about Salome because of how her father behaved with Milenka more than anything. She fears he will do something worse to her if she returns. Jovanka realizes that it may be better if Salome never comes back! Juan is offerring comfort.!!!!! I said this to one fan today…I would not count on the Jovanka/Juan relationshiop yet…to many little signs are cropping up that in the end she and Raphael may get together. Particularily if she ends up revealing that Sashenka is his daughter. Let’ see what the next few week’s bring.
Telenovela-World: Dialogue/Diálogo – Juan & Jovanka [USA, 11/26/04] (last week) Author: Tuly (---) Date: 11-30-04 16:12 PST
Juan – How are you? Would you like me to fix something for you, some tea?
Jovanka – No, thanks. Would you like something?
Juan – No. The only thing I’d like is for all of this to be over. What Vanya said regarding forgiving you was said without giving it thought, he’s very confused.
Jovanka – I know. I know my father’s not doing well. But that doesn’t worry me now, but rather Salomé. With my father taking that attitude, what kind of future awaits her in the tribe? My father will let them treat her just as, or worse, than Milenka and I can’t let that happen.
Juan – I hope you don’t hate me for what I’m going to say but I think that the best thing for your daughter would be if she never came back.
Jovanka – I can’t hate you when what you’re saying is with her best interests at heart. And maybe you’re right, maybe the best thing is that my daughter stay with Sebastián forever, I don’t know. I’m so confused that I don’t know anymore what’s the worst or the best thing for anybody. The only thing I see is that my life is sinking in a never-ending abyss. I can’t take it anymore, Juan, really, I can’t. You don’t know how much I regret having come back to this town. The only things I’ve achieved are misfortunes for myself and for my people, one after the other.
Juan – Jovanka, what you’re saying is a lie. You’re not responsible for what’s happening to other people. It’s impossible for you to want to control people’s lives and then hold yourself responsible for their actions.
Jovanka – It hurts me deeply to see how everyone, all of the people I love, are crumbling before my eyes. First my daughter … that love she feels for your nephew that is marked by tragedy. And now my father … he’s lost in intrigues and jealousy.
Juan – Jovanka, none of that depends on you.
Jovanka – Oh Juan, you’re never going to understand it, but misfortune follows me and that’s the way it always will be.
Juan – Come here (Juan hugs her) … this too shall pass. Everything in life passes in spite of ourselves. Nothing lasts forever.
Jovanka – I need you. In spite of myself, I need you, Juan. I would like to stay away from you, but I can’t. I need to feel you near … it’s the only thing that holds me up during these trying times, Juan. Forgive me for saying this to you, Juan, forgive me, please.
Juan – Don’t worry, go ahead and cry. Cry all you need, vent. I will be with you come what may. I won’t leave you alone so long as you need me; I will be here, by your side.
Jovanka – Juan …
Juan – Don’t say anything. Forget who we are, okay? Right now you’re a woman that needs someone’s support and understanding … and I am the man that’s willing to give you that.
Jovanka – Thank you, Juan. It’s better that you leave, I wouldn’t want one of my daughters to see us like this.
Juan – All right, all right, don’t worry, I understand. Try to rest, okay? (Juan kisses her forehead and leaves … Sashenka watches from the stairs).
***************ESPAÑOL***************
Juan - ¿Cómo estás? ¿Quieres que te prepare algo, un té?
Jovanka – No, gracias.
Jovanka – Te necesito.
Juan – No te preocupes, llora. Llora todo lo que necesites, desahógate. Estaré contigo pase lo que pase. No pienso dejarte sola mientras tú me necesites; yo estaré aquí, a tu lado.
Jovanka – Juan …
Juan – No digas nada.

Telenovela-World: Re: Missed tonight’s episode! [USA, 11/30/04] Author: Mika (---) Date: 12-01-04 02:32 PST
You missed a POWERFUL episode, filled with suspense. I’m not good at recapping things in order….but here are some of the major events:
Lazlo and Milenka came across Vanya holding Ianko’s dead body, and holding a knife. Of course the assumption is that Vanya killed Ianko. Now a “court” has been formed to decide if Vanya is guilty or not. If he’s declared guilty, he has to receive the death penalty and drink a poison concocted by Mama Paska. She’s working on it now. Jovanka begged her not to do it, but Mama Paska intends to follow gypsy law. ~ Camila was preparing to have the abortion at that dirty looking woman’s home. She’s already had to drink some sort of tea to make her groggy, so she “won’t feel the pain so much”. But Mario managed to call Ofelia, and tell her what Camila was about to do. So at the last minute, Ofelia and Sandra race to the home of the abortionist to save Camila. Looks like they got there just in time. ~ Rafael reached the rusty old ship, but Sebastian and Salome were already gone. Rafael found the letter Sebastian wrote, and now mistakenly believes that Sebastian is dead. ~ But Sebastian is alive and well, and searching madly for the runaway Salome. Jonas meanwhile, is also searching for Salome. And where is Salome? Rodrigo and his evil sidekick found her in the woods. Rodrigo ordered his sidekick to go home, so that he can rape Salome in peace. He’s got her holed up in a shack that appeared magically in the woods. The fool Salome believes that Rodrigo will help her get back to her gypsy camp…. she doesn’t know what he REALLY has in mind. ~ This was a great episode….and once again, NO ERENDIRA. I think the novela moves along so much better without her. ~

what didSalome say..Padre Juan and Jovanka..Drago at the camp?
I doubt Cleveland, Ohio will ever have the English translation of this show.
Re: Translate Please Author: JAV (---) Date: 12-07-04 19:05 PST
Shallowme basically said that Sebas kidnapped her by enveloping her in his lies. She went with him but then escaped. She begged forgiveness from Jonas and the tribe.
Jovanka said she wanted to talk to her daughter because she needed to.
Drago said NO WAY. He is the patriarca and he says what happens with the tribe.
Padre Juan challenged Shallowme and said he needed to talk to her in private. Drago said no way but Juan threatened to call the police and have Shallowme be interrogated to get the truth about Aquaman’s whereabouts.
I know this is short but I am running late…
Saludos,
JAV
Re: Translate Please continued… Author: timoteo (---) Date: 12-07-04 19:24 PST
Jovanka is told by Drago that she will no longer be the “gitana princess” she was before. She can either leave the tribe now, or do what Drago says, but Shallowme stays with Drago.
Jovanka tells Shallowme that she must leave now, Jovanka is going to take the Marias out of town.
Vanya begs Milenka for forgiveness from outside her room door – they don’t see each other. Vanya begs and Milenka says she loves him to herself, but she can never forgive him. Vanya leaves and is looking at Milenka’s room window from the street and Baldomero finds him. Vanya says he’s lost everything and now he’s an old man with out a future waiting to die, like Baldomero. Baldomero tells him to let another old man without a future help him.
Rafael tells Juan and Escudero that he hasn’t found Sebastian’s body on the devil’s bar. That means he could be alive. Juan tells Rafael that Shallowme showed up and they found her in the swamps. go Rafael!
Adela and her husband find that Victoria is suspiciously calm, considering that Sebastian is supposed to be dead.
Ropuerco gets mad when Simon tells him to keep his stolen stuff. He needs an operation to keep him alive, but won’t take ropuerco’s gold. He tells Ropuerco to get out of the house. Ropuerco is supposed to be with Sebastian, but he is by the docks and Victoria catches him off duty.
this is about what I can remember, in addition to JAV’s thoughts.

Telenovela-World: Re: Can anyone help? Missed Episode [USA, 12/7/04] Author: Marisa (---) Date: 12-08-04 15:04 PST
Here is what happened in brief yesterday. Drago threatened Salome with Sebastain’s life…she had to apologize to the tribe and beg her “husband” (now she has two of them) for foregivness…Padre Juan tries to talk her out of it but she won’t listen…her mother is told by Drago that her stint as the “gypsy princess” is over now that he is the patriarca. You start to see that is Jovanka questioning her culture. She wants Salome out so she and the girls can leave town…Salome won’t listen to her mother….Vanya pleads with Milenka from otuside the door with no luck…not sure what her problem is…Vanya has stepped down as the patriarca and is heading out of town when Baldemero confronts him (more on this in tonight ‘s episode). Mama Pasca will not kneel when the rest of the tribe accepts Drago as the patriarca…she to is wondering what’s happening and is suspciious of the man!!!!
Raphael is heading out on the boat to search for Sebastian …Victoria nd Endira are strolling though town and meet Alfredo and his wife. He is suspicious of Victoria’s calm nature. Rodrigo is also heading back to the swamp…
Telenovela-World: Tonite’s recap – best I can do [USA, 12/9/04] Author: timoteo (---) Date: 12-09-04 19:39 PST
Tonite, Rafael finished his remembering his youth with Sebastian and walked into the sea. We don’t know what has become of him from this episode, as his head disappearing beneath a wave was the last we’ve seen of him.
At Jovanka’s house, Jovanka finishes talking with Josefa. Josefa finishes last nite’s speech about how she thinks that both Jovanka and Juan are nice people, and that she understands their wanting to be together. She leaves. Then, Sashenka comes around the corner and starts accusing Jovanka of lying to the Marias. She claims that the whole town knows of their love and that Juan is leaving the priesthood for Jovanka. Jovanka denies this. Shashenka tromps out saying that she is going to the camp to be with real gypsies.
Magdalena tells Claudio again that she wants him to make love to her. They tell each other that they love each other. Claudio gets some sheets and blankets and they head up to his tree house and soon are naked. Magdalena tells Claudio that he will be her first and asks Claudio if he’s experienced. Claudio says he is. Magdalena asks him what she should do, and Claudio starts to stutter and breathe heavily. Finally, he admits that he has no experience and she will be his first. They smile and go at it.
Padre Juan reminds Ropuerco that he officiated at his first communion. He says that no matter what happens, he will go to jail. HE asks Ropuerco what happened, and Ropuerco tells him. He also tells Ropuerco that, if what he says is true, there will be no trouble for Ropuerco. Ropuerco leads Juan to the shack and when they get there, Sebastian is gone.
Baldomero tells Vanya that it is useless to blame himself, he needs to get on with life, Vanya says that he has nothing and Baldomero asks if he will pray with him. Vanya says that he doesn’t even have an image of his saint to pray to. Baldomero activates his revolving saint selection and Vanya gets happy when he sees Santa Sara. He asks Baldomero if he can take the image. Baldomero first refuses, but then relents, and Vanya takes the image and heads out.
Upstairs at Jovanka’s the herb lady is telling Visonka that they have to get Milenka to have an abortion or she will die. Milenka keeps refusing. The herb lady brews up the abortion potion and has it to Milenka’s mouth, and the glass shatters in her hand. (Obviously, Vanya showed up with Santa Sara’s picture, but this is not shown or stated.) a big gust of wind shoots in the window. Milenka says that this is a sign, as the herb lady and Visonka pick the broken glass off of her chest. The herb lady is puzzled and says nothing like this has happened before. Visonka says nothing. Jovanka comes in after being dressed down by Sashenka and Milenka begs her not to let them take her baby. The herb lady draws her aside and tells her story, that Milenka might die. Jovanka talks to Milenka quietly and Milenka says that she knows that Yanko would never kill herself. She says that Yanko is watching over her and that he told her that there was a murderer in the tribe. She thinks that Vanya did it. Jovanka tells her that just as she knows Yanko and knows he didn’t commit suicide, that she knows Vanya and knows he didn’t kill Yanko.
Drago catches Pesky heading out of camp and asks her where she is going. Pesky says that she’s going to Jovanka’s to see how Milenka is doing. She asks if she may have permission to go. Drago says that Jovanka doesn’t respect him. Pesky says that he needs to go easy on Jovanka. Drago says that she will have to respect him or else. Pesky says that the tribe respects him, but if he wants the tribe to trust him, he will have to be more compassionate.
Drago visits Victoria and they trade threats. These are the standard “I’ll tell” exchange, and finally Victoria says she wants to see Sebastian alive and that she will ruin Drago and everyone if her sons or Sebastian are harmed, and then she tells Drago to get back to business.
Jonas and Salome are in the tent. He is all over her, telling her how he loves her and has from the minute he saw her. He is kissing and hugging and Salome is like a limp rag. (I know this is the part you are all interested in, so I will do my best.) He gets her down and is making his move, and she pushes him off and gets up. Jonas says that she promised to do this and that it should be happy, but whether she is happy or not, it will happen. He tosses her back on the bed.
Outside the tent, Sashenka is sitting and Yanni comes up. She is her usual nasty self to him and he offers her a glass of wine. She takes it. They talk and he tells her that he loves her and that he always has, and he knows that she loves Jonas and wishes she was in the tent with him. She gets huffy. She tells him that there will never be a chance for him with her. He tells her that there will never be a chance for her with Jonas, because Salome is Jonas’s woman now. He says that she claims to be the best gypsy, so she should know what it means that jonas already has a woman and it is not her.
In the tent, Salome is laying naked on her stomach, covered up mostly. Jonas is sitting up, and he’s bitter. Nothing in what he says indicates whether he’s done Salome or not. He leaves the tent and goes outside. Sashenka follows him into the Gitano movie theater. Yanni follows into the projection booth. She asks him if he made Salome his woman. No answer is given.
You all saw the teaser for tomorrow. I coudn't understand what is said and there’s no captions for teasers. I don’t think that jonas did it with Salome.
Anyone else, please add and correct everywhere it’s necessary, and amplify, too.
I think we need to help those who lost CC.

Telenovela-World: Re: Tonite’s recap [USA, 12/9/04] – best I can do –text of what Jodás said + promo Author: B. (---)
Date: 12-09-04 22:23 PST
i haven’t made my mind up about the glass, but Mika’s right about what Jodás said in the, shall we say, aftermath of whatever happened with Shallowme:
“So much waiting – for this! Do you know what I felt when I saw you for the first time? That I was happy. That I wanted to make you the happiest woman on the face of the earth! I fell in love with you like an idiot!! For you – for you I wanted to be better, Salomé – and look what you turned me into: A man filled with hate, who has to take what is his by force. But that’s how you wanted it. And that’s how it will be.”
unfortunately, my take on this is that a) he raped her already (or if he didn’t get to the actual deed yet, he got close enough to completely shatter Shallowme, who already knows what it’s like to be with a man she loves who truly loves her in return. not that i don’t believe Jodás THINKS he loves her, but if he truly loved her –as Ianko loved Milenka, for example—he would have cared more about her happiness than his, or his “honor,” or about anything else), and b) he’s telling her that that’s how it’s going to be from now on. as if to pay her back for making him “have” to rape her and for not having fallen in love with him in the first place.
as for the promo, my guess is that either timo’s on the money with his knife-that-killed-the-man-who-had-Shallowme-first = Shallowme’s “virginity” theory of his, or else he’s trying to tell the tribe that he used the knife on Shallowme somehow. he holds up the clean-looking sheet in one hand, says “Here is the honor of a man!” as she shakes his hand to indicate the sheet. the flock starts to gather ‘round. Mr Voice-over trills, “The proof of sin is shown…” as we have a shot of Pesky and Jovanka looking worried. Jodás deliberately holds up a knife to his sheet-covered palm, closes his hand around it, and withdraws the knife so it cleans itself on the sheet while Mr V-O continues, “…but it won’t be their words that will surprise you!!” then Jodás opens his hand with the sheet to show blood stains (that are not from having cut his hand, since the sheet is still whole). he shakes his hand again, saying, “This is the delivery…” Mr V-O concludes, over shots of Disgusto and then Jovanka, before returning to Jodás and his sheet, “The cruelty continues!” Jodás concludes, “Here is the virginity of my wife*.” (*the word he uses here, “mujer,” though often used in Spanish in a non-pejorative way to mean “wife,” literally means “woman.”)
all i can say is: gak.
Re: Tonite’s recap – best I can do Author: Kathleen (---) Date: 12-09-04 20:52 PST
I don’t think Jonas did it with Salome either. He seemed too frustrated that she was not responding. His temper is certainly mercurial. He goes into the tent with her mad. Turns around and is happy to be with her as if nothing had ever happened before. Then he’s surprised and furious she’s not responding to his dirty, smelly self. We’ll have to change his name from Jonas to Jerkas.
The time of day was mercurial, too!
Raphael is trying to kill himself but I think something will happen to prevent it. Perhaps he’ll get swept up that river where he finds Sebastian on the riverbank. I think Sebastian came to and made the effort to get away from the shack. Things knocked around there looked like it could have been from his falling while trying to get off the cot. (I’m watching too much CSI again; Telemundo isn’t that sophisticated.)
I’m very disappointed that Padre Juan talked Rodrigo out of a fight. With all of the bad guys in this novela, one of these days Padre Juan is going to talk himself right into a grave.
As for the bedsheet and the blood, didn’t Jerkas obviously have a large knife in his hand? Is he signifying that he cut himself to save his “wife’s” honor (perhaps claiming that Sebastian raped her) and that his blood will substitute for hers? I dunno. I’m just wondering.

Re: ¡Grrr!¡No la grabó mi VCR!¿Qué pasó anoche? Author: timoteo (---) Date: 12-11-04 11:17 PST
Sorry, Sue, I’m a little scattered today…
Rafael did write a suicide note, but the matter of what has become of him hasn’t been settled.
He may be dead, but the arguments that he is taking time out from the story by means of an undetermined as yet fate seem to carry a lot of weight. It appears that Sashenka will be in for a surprise next week…
And Sebastian, after several beatings and a stab wound, and ropuerco thinking that his cold body and breathing having ceased means that he was dead, now has walked from wherever the ship is up the coast (so far that hurricanes hit it while Malarribo is calm) after caunterizing his stab wound all the way to the gitano camp and made an appearance for his wife. However, having slept with Jonas, she won’t go with him. Jovanka helps him and Mirko loads him into his dad’s old red ‘60 Chevy biscayne 2 door sedan and they took him to Jovanka’s place, where she is helping him get well.

Telenovela-World: WOW!! YESTERDAY [USA, 12/15/04] JOVANKA & JUAN Author: mariana08 (---) Date: 12-16-04 06:39 PST
I AM STILL IN SHOCK WITH YESTERDAY’S SCENE!!! THAT WAS SWEET WHAT JUAN TOLD JOVANKA ABOUT THAT “SHE’S THE TEMPLE HE WANTS TO ADORE!!!” AND WHAT JOVANKA TOLD HIM, THAT FOR HIM TO DECIDED AND IF HE DECIDED FOR HER SHE TOLD HIM THAT “SHE’LL WAIT FOR HIM RIGHT HERE… NO MATTER HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE!!!” THAT’S SO ROMANTIC!!THAT’S WHAT I CALLED TRUE LOVE!!!!!
Here is the dialogue b/n Juan and Yovanka..sort of.. Author: rth (---) Date: 12-16-04 11:21 PST
(Juan rests his face on Yovanka’s hand.)
J: It is so difficult to know where happiness hides.
Y: Look at me. What do you feel when you look at my eyes?
J: This may not be the answer you are waiting for, but I feel at home. I feel I arrived at the place where I wanted to arrive. I feel I am at the doors of the temple I want to worship. My home.
(He caresses her face. Music up Hmmm, hmmm, ahhhhh. They almost kiss. He looks to the right, then to her)
J: Sorry. sorry. Sometimes I feel I have everything under control.
Y: You don’t have to ask for my forgiveness. Never. And you don’t have to explain anything to me after what you have said.
I know you love me. But is love guarantee that 2 people will be together? Look what happened to my daughter and your nephew.
. J: Yes, it’s true. You are right.
Y: That’s why I ask you to make up your mind. Whatever that decision is, I will respect it. And if it has to do with me.I will be here waiting for you.
(He smiles)
J: What is it?

Tonite, we had Paska giving Salome lessons on how to be the seer of the tribe. She had her inhaling a mandrake based solution that gave her a vision of Rafael committing suicide by walking into the ocean.
Paska admitted that she has never been able to do this herself. (which confirmed to me that she is actually a “football dad”, trying to get Salome to succeed where she has been such an obvious flop herself.) Jonas stood outside while Salome likened herself to a mandrake, which supposedly cries out a death cry when it is picked. She then told Paska that she was also plucked away from her roots in Sebastian by Jonas, who she said was a coward and would behave like a beast to take her away from Sebastian, threatening to kill him. Jonas was outside the tent listening to this whole process, as he was drawn by Salome crying out in her vision.
Each of the people you saw go forward in the chuch said things on behalf of Rafael. Victoria got up and began to insult Jovanka, who responded with grace and tranquility. Sebastian finally got Victoria to sit down. Alfredo and Sebastian said that they never really knew Rafael until now, and Sebastian said that he was united with his father in that he was a victim of ethnic hate between two groups. Jonas took Salome there because, he said, Salome blamed him for Rafael’s death and Jonas said that Sebastian was responsible for Rafael’s death because he dishonored Jonas. Sebastian told Jonas that he was out of line, and that the service was for Rafael’s memory, and he was dishonoring that memory. Jonas took Salome outside.
Juan added that this might be the last time he would serve as Malarribo’s priest.
Drago said, in response to Nilos’s worry about Milenka’s condition, that gitanas could have babies in the back of trucks, and that they needed to go to a new town about 600 kilometers away. Visonka, back in town, was telling Vinka that Milenka would die if she were moved, in response to Laslo telling her that Drago wanted to move camp right away.
Drago told Nilos that he needed to get Mirko in line and keep him out of trouble, and Mirko walked out of the mass for Rafael when Sandra was telling how she nearly married him, but his heart only could belong to one person (Jovanka, who she didn’t name). When Mirko came back to camp, Nilos collared him and asked him if he was going to be a betrayer like Branko. He gave him the I’m going to die guilt trip and Mirko brushed that off and said that he wanted to be a gitano, and was proud of that, but that he didn’t want to be the kind of person that Drago was or the kind of person who agreed with what Drago was. Nilos said that he agreed with Drago, and Mirko shrugged and walked off.
At the end, Drago said that it was a good idea to come and that he wanted to go in and pay respects to such a great man as Rafael, too.
That’s about what I can recall.

Telenovela-World: Did anyone want this recap from Friday? [USA, 12/17/04] Author: timoteo (---) Date: 12-18-04 12:04 PST
Last nite, the show started with Juan announcing that he was going to take time off from being a priest to make up his mind about his future. Victoria got up and walked out of the service before it was over. Juan ran after her, but she said that if he goes with Jovanka, he will be as dead to her as Rafael, who, she said, she couldn’t speak for during the service because all she could say was that he was a coward.
Josefa came up to Juan after this and said to Juan that Simon was too sick to be at the service, but wanted him to know that Simon sent his condolences and that no matter what Juan decided, he could count on Simon and Josefa for support.
Juan went back and was taking off his robes, and Jovanka came in. This was a lengthy and very good scene in which Jovanka came in hearing Juan praying about his choice. Jovanka recognized that Juan had great passion for being a priest as Juan explained to her how much he loved walking with God and helping people. Jovanka noted that if he left the priesthood, he wouldn’t have the people, and Juan said that a passionate person is passionate from within, not passionate because of the people around them. She noted how odd it was that he could be passionate about the Church and about her simultaneously, and Juan noted that Jovanka was a passionate person, too, as she was passionate about her gypsy heritage and about her daughters, while still being passionate about him. Jovanka asked which one of Juan’s passions was the strongest, and he wasn’t sure, so she backed off and said she’d be waiting and would understand no matter what.
Drago was outside with Jonas. They sent Salome back to the camp with another gitano. Drago told Jonas that he needed to see if Juan was going to pursue them, even after they left, so he could judge what had to be done with Juan to cover his tracks. He came in at this point of Juan and Jovanka’s talk and expressed his sympathy to Juan for the tribe. Juan told him that he could leave.
Drago wanted Juan to shake his hand in forgiveness, and tried to use “tolerance” and “foregiveness” as a guilt trip on Juan. Juan refused and said that for these things to happen, there has to be understanding, and that Drago was only being a hypocrite. (One example here was Juan saying that Jesus “lost it” when driving the money changers out of the temple, when Jesus “was a man, like I am now”. I dislike the story line in these matters, because if Juan supposedly was educated in Rome, as the story goes, he should be a lot more educated on theology instead of propagating stupid and simplitic misunderstandings as the writers have him doing. It is simple doctrine that Christ was both man and God simultaneously, since the early Church councils of the 4th Century. It is clear from Jesus’s own words that he never “lost His cool” since He Himself stated that He always did His Father’s will, and it is also clear that the Father testified that He was “well pleased”with Jesus. If they can’t even get simple stuff like this right, why don’t they just avoid it?! Grrrrr!)
So, Drago told Juan that if he tried to prosecute himself or Jonas, he would get someone, including Jovanka in return. That’s were this scene ended.
Paska came looking for Vanya, and Baldomero wanted to talk with her.
Mirko left the church service when he got upset with Sandra saying how much Rafael had meant to her. Back at the camp, working with Yianni, he told Yianni he was troubled and Yianni told him he was being a child, he had no reason to be jealous of a dead man. He went back into town and caught Sandra walking home, and said he didn’t know what to think of her, since she was saying those things about Rafael he didn’t know what she felt for him. Sandra got mad and told him she didn’t have time to worry about his stupid jealousy and walked off.
Vanya and Milenka talked, with Vanya giving a very nice finish to his talking to his son in Milenka, and she awoke. She told him that Janko had appeared to her in dreams and said that there was a great betrayer in the Gitanos and Milenka knew that he had been murdered. She asked Vanya if he had done it and he swore on his child that he hadn’t. She said that she still couldn’t forgive him for what he’d done and was shocked by how out of control he became. When Vinka and Visonka returned, Vanya left.
When the gitano escorting Salome went to get the car, Sebastian jumped out of the bushes and grabbed her. He wanted her to admit that she was being pressured, and she stuck to her story that she realized she couldn’t leave the gypsies for him. He talked about their gitano vows and Juan marrying them, and she said she thought she would try it and see if she liked it. Sebastian asked her if she slept with any man that interested her after she told him how she had wanted to be with Jonas and how she had shared her passion with him.
Finally, they got on the sidewalk and Jonas came along. Sebastian said that Jonas could have her for now, until she left him for another man, but that he had another matter to settle with Jonas and would do that some day.
Further down the street, Jovanka had an argument with Shrewshenka when she said that she wanted to tell her and Magdalena something at home. Sashenka said that it was about Padre Juan and said she didn’t want to hear it, so she left. Jovanka and Magdalena went on and ran into Salome, Drago, and Jonas. Jovanka asked for time to talk to Salome at home and Drago said that there was no time and that she belonged to him and Jonas now, since they had paid the bride price for her and Jovanka had accepted. Salome then
said that she wanted to go to the camp without talking to Jovanka.
This is how I recall it; please everyone feel free to add and correct as you see fit.

Telenovela-World: Wednesday partial summary [12/29/04] Author: Robin N Date: 12-30-04 08:37 PST
Vicky insults Shallowme (what a surprise) and Shallowme, who’s still reeling from the encounter with Sebastian, is horrified at how vindictive and cruel Vicky is. She accuses Vicky of lies but Vicky tells her to ask her mother what Jovanka told her 20 years ago. Shallowme stumbles off back to camp.
The men ransacking Jovanka’s house find no money in any of the trunks or other logical hiding places and report this to Drago. Jodas is surprised to hear that they were looking for money and questions his father who snaps back that his son shouldn’t question his motives. The search continues.
At the encampment, Magda tells her mother that (“I hope you won’t be mad, but…”) she has taken destiny into her own hands and has made love, well, had sexual relations (“…but don’t worry, I took precautions!”) with someone so she wouldn’t end up being ruled over like Shallowme. Jovanka is stunned by this news but comes to understand her daughter’s POV. Magda tells her she wants to escape, go to Spain, live her own life and make her own decisions for herself, she doesn’t belong in the tribe. She’s a little startled to see la Bocona standing in the shadows of the tent (just how much did she hear?), who’s returned after her little snit fit earlier (in which she told Jovanka that she didn’t consider her to be her mother, to which Jovanka told her that it didn’t matter if Shrewshenka liked what she did or not, she was always going to be her mother). Shrewshenka has her own obsessions though, tells Magda she didn’t hear anything, and ends up once again flouncing off, ostensibly to keep Jodas from finding out that Shallowme had gone to town with the letter Jovanka wrote for Juan.
Paska enters the tent and consoles Jovanka for doing the right thing. She tells her she’s not strong enough to help the tribe from what is coming, Jovanka and Shallowme are important, especially with Vanya gone. You sense that she’s troubled and frail and worried about the insanity of Drago. Just then Drago and his henchmen return to the camp and he enters the tent. He tells Jovanka that he needs to speak to her… alone (meaningful glance at Paska who looks scared sh#tless).
Jovanka follows Drago to his tent and he sits down with the Patriarca’s staff across his lap, stroking it (hmm… phallic symbology again… <vbwg>). It comes out about how he was looking for her money (he’s all concerned for the assets of his tribe members) and she knows what he’s all about. She threatens him to keep his grubby hands off hers and he threatens her and her daughters with separation again but she’s not going to submit to this blackmail again. She knows it’s money he wants and she promises him money – but only when she’s convinced that he’s prepared to leave her and her daughters alone and treat them the way they should be treated!
Shrewshenka goes into Jodas tent and lounges on his bed, fantasizing a bit. He later returns and she darts under the covers, hiding (“…maybe he’ll think I’m Shallowme!”) and he does indeed jump to conclusions and starts to disrobe, but he figures out quickly that the hand peeking out under the covers is not Shallowme’s and asks who it is. Shrewshenka surfaces and he asks what she’s up to. Once again, she tells him that if he had her in his bed instead of a woman who doesn’t love him, he’d have a real gitana to hold onto.
Claudio’s got the miseries and Mario and Camila try to comfort him. He later goes to the campground to talk to Magda and tell her he’s ready to help her do anything. She’s outside waiting to cover for the missing Shallowme and he sees her and grabs her for a liplock. She cautions him that this is a foolish and dangerous thing to do and he swears that he’ll help her escape. She tells him thanks, but no thanks, she will do so by herself after the tribe has left town when it will be safer. He’s crestfallen and when men walk by with rifles, she tells him to skedaddle.
Rafael has been discussing the daughter situation over drinks with Sandra (who brings up the Shallowme possibility) but Rafael doesn’t think this can be true because Jovanka is too noble to let something like that occur. Escudero tells him that Sebastian is urgently looking for him so he goes to the Pescadera to talk to him. Sebastian tells him of his encounter with Shallowme and his fear that they are half-brother & sister. Again, Rafa interjects some reason into this, saying that Jovanka would never let this happen, but Sebas is not so sure. Yeah, when he was wounded and she was curing him she talked about how she should have realized how things were with him and Shallowme and supported them and that could have been because they’re not blood relatives and they mean it, but it could also be because she has the hots for Juan and doesn’t want to look like the villain in the movie. He asks Rafa if he can be 100% sure he’s not Shallowme’s father and he can’t answer that question. He does, however, say that they will go to the camp and ask Jovanka and get the truth but Vicky enters and insists (though why anyone would listen to her in her family ever again I don’t know) that they’re not going anywhere and they’re not going to talk about this ever again because it would be shameful and shocking if it got around town (where they are the most important people, so there!).
Shallowme returns to the camp and Magda intercepts her. Shallowme needs to talk to Jovanka immediately. Magda gets Paska out of the tent and Jovanka returns to find Shallowme in a fetal position. She asks her what the problem is and Shallowme begs her to tell her which of her daughters is the child of Rafael Dominguez. Jovanka is stunned. She can’t believe that Rafael would tell one of her daughters this and asks if he told her. Shallowme tells her that it was Sebastian and he thinks she’s his sister and that she knew all along. Jovanka is unhappy that the cat is further out of the bag… if Sebastian knows, then who else does? Shallowme again begs for the truth: is she Rafael Dominguez’s daughter?
